They Finally Came Home!

Yes...they were gone for 10 nights and we really missed them.
Just kidding......this is after they were home for awhile.
Here is a brief recap of the last of their trip.  Phil was finally able to participate in the last couple days of enjoying the sun.  They made the huge mistake of going for a bike ride around 4:30PM to a different town; two towns away.  The town had a really long road that led to the ocean.  There was a road at the end that said No Trespassing, Jogging, Biking or Walking.  Phil was pretty sure they could go on the beach to the intermediate town and save alot of time, but it was getting late and they didn't want to be on the road in the dark.  Long story short, they road back to the highway on several exhausting hills.  Next day, they checked it out - sure enough!  A 10 minute walk on the beach would have saved them 45 minutes uphill!
This is BEFORE the ride uphill on the way home!  Phil is totally "old school local boy" bike riding in his slippahs!
Remember the big stage that was being set up for the "Chicago" concert?  Janet went back the next morning.  Here are the VIP seats for $95/person.  Every other price point sits on the grass.
This was something Janet had never seen before and it was outside the concert venue - a portable hand washing machine.
They walked across the street to the big fancy Hilton Waikoloa where they have a huge dolphin pool.  Janet told Phil that for her 60th birthday, she wants to swim with the dolphins.  They are so cute!
This guy is the Noodles of the dolphin family  - always circling for some bonus food!
Janet and Phil also walked across some lava fields to go to a beach where there are reportedly a lot of turtles.  Nope, they never saw one!  There are wild goats on the Big Island and when they went back to the car, this cute little baby was crossing the road.  Janet was really worried as the Mom wasn't anywhere in sight!  Phil chased him away from the road and into the bush, hoping he wouldn't go back to the road.

Go into the bush, cute little baby!
Phil always wants to pay for the least expensive accommodation, but Janet won't go there.  Here is why: they paid a small amount each night to upgrade to a deluxe unit that had new appliances,  flat screen TV and updated decor.  This stovetop was being removed from a close by unit while Janet and Phil were there.  It was so old the colour was worn off the knobs.  Phil likes to make out like they live on income assistance and Janet likes to think she is an heiress on Downton Abbey (except that nearly didn't work out, did it?).
This cooktop looks like a JennAir but was actually GE.  Janet said it was so old, she had never seen one like it.
Janet and Phil bought some sushi the night before to have for lunch on the plane.  Being as how Janet was in seat 21E and Phil was in 19D on a nearly full flight, it took some finagling to get to sit together.  The sushi was kind of jumbled, but was still way better than anything the airline was selling.
