Tokyo!

Janet and Karen had a lovely trip on a plane neither of them had ever been on before...a Boeing Dreamliner.  All was well until they had to circle Narita in some bone crushing turbulence for about 40 minutes. Janet was afraid she was going to be sick.

They managed to catch the "Skyliner" to Nippori Station where they spent a fair bit of time being completely clueless as to the next step.  Where is the ever so helpful Japanese student who wants to practice his English when you need him?

In the end , they managed to arrive at Hotel Niwa and we're delighted to lay on a bed.  Janet has stayed at this hotel once before and really likes it.  New, nice rooms, albeit small, quiet street five minutes from the train station and a 7-11 next door with anything you could want.

The reason for the trip was to bring Toyoko a quilt that Karen had made for her.  Toyoko is the widow of Phils more than 40 year old friend.  Phil attending Kodokan in 1970 for two years and meeting Toshio has borne three generations of friendship amongst many people.

This will be a very short post as Janet is trying to wrap her clueless brain around blogging on her iPad!
