It's Spring Time!

Hi everyone...we have been well in Doggie Land; well at least I have been.  Rockers appears to have calmed himself down after last Sundays' fiasco after fiasco.

Janet goes to work at 6:45AM on Thursdays, so Phil took us for some real fun....good thing she wasn't home when we arrived.  We think she would have had a fit!  Live and let live, Sister.
We went off leash at Uplands Park.  I guess you could say it was a bit muddy.  We love the mud and water in the park.  Rockers used to find really big mud puddles and lie down in them.  However, whip out the hose to rinse us off....all of a sudden water isn't so much fun.
It was a really nice day out when Janet got home.  As many excuses as she could dream up, she knew that she needed to go outside and get to work in the yard.  She was grumpy as Phil (who is not helping in any way) is micro managing the clean up from his office.   We kind of wonder if he has a death wish.  He needs to be careful as Janet watches a LOT of crime and legal shows.  Phil's Dad, Brian has been warning Phil about this for years.
There are lots of daisies in our yard.  Janet says she is moving them elsewhere or getting rid of them as she thinks they are way too much work for way too little glory.

After spending a couple of hours in the backyard, Janet went down to Jack and Gwens' to seek some garden advice.  She went for free advice and came home with free salmon that Jack had caught that morning.  How cool is that?  She made Panko Crusted Salmon with dijon mustard.
And, last but not least....Game. Over. Teddy Bear!  Look what Bronwyn found!   No way Meg can turn Rockers down now.  We recognize the puppy is way cuter and smaller, but Janet says she will see if it comes in big doggie sizes.  See the cute little ribbon to tie the ring onto?  Rock on Rockers!  Try that on for size, Throckmorton!

Poor Rockers...But It's Not His Fault!

Against my better judgement, I felt sorry for my brother yesterday.  It was really nice and sunny when Our People took us for a walk.  Right from the get go, things weren't going well for him.
We are trying to leave the house, but Rockers can't move forward because someone is standing on his leash!

We make it down to the end of the block and get ready to cross Beach Drive....now he Janet wraps his leash around the signpost.

Later in the day, Janet was cleaning the ovens and this is how Rockers reacted - he was trying to hide in Phils office.  I will be the first to admit that the sight of Janet oven cleaning is a rare one indeed, but still, isn't this a bit on the overkill side?
I hope Meg doesn't get ahold of these photos.  He wants to be Ring Pup so badly.  He told Meg, that just like the Queen, his motto was "Keep Calm and Carry On", but I'm not too sure about that.  He is going to be totally depressed if that stupid Teddy Bear gets the job!
On a different note, Janet made Short Rib Stew with Creamy Polenta last night.  Janet just loves beef short ribs!

Desperate Times

We are now on Day Six of No Dishwasher.  Janet is trying to be a trooper, and doing a pretty good job, although we suggest you don't run that one by Phil.  By being a "trooper" we mean she is no longer throwing tantrums.  She just starts crying whenever she enters the kitchen and sees the sink full of dirty dishes.

Phil hauled out all these very fancy looking tools in an attempt to fix the dishwasher.  We noted that a lot of dust had to be removed from the top of the tool kit.
Then he set to work, taking the dishwasher apart.  Phil doesn't usually participate in house or yard duties, so he must be tired of looking at Janet's tear stained face.  Desperate times call for desperate measures!  In the really bad news department - it's still not working.
Janet says "good thing it's not a gas oven!"  We aren't sure if she's kidding.
Rockers has kicked up the breakfast routine to a new level.  This morning, he noticed Janet's eyes were open, long before she put her feet on the floor.  Immediately, he started his barking and howling routine to get the show on the road.  Janet wiped away her tears, and proceeded to feed us.
Waiting, waiting.  Come on, we are starving!
More good news/bad news department.  Bad news first -   Janet felt lucky that the nice lady at The London Chef  didn't tell her how nuts she was for going on the Vij waitlist.  After Janet put herself on the list, she discovered that Vij was there last September and had more than 150 people on the waitlist!  Janet wisely signed up for their newsletter, so hopefully she can go next time.

Good news - Janet signed up for an Unlimited Pass at Iyengar Yoga.  She plans to go three times a week.  There's a bit of bad news in here as well....Janet has just finished six consecutive months of beginner classes with not a hope of moving to another level.  She is envious of her volunteer friend Mariem, who graduated herself to General level.  Lucky Mariem!
